This paper introduces a new framework for evaluating how AI agents might impact jobs. It combines worker preferences and AI expert assessments to audit over 800 tasks, creating a database called WORKBank. The findings reveal that while many workers favor AI automation for tedious tasks, they generally prefer collaboration over full replacement—highlighting the need for human-centered AI development and a shift in workplace skills toward interpersonal and organizational competencies.

Jorge, thanks for sharing this interesting paper.
The WORKBank framework seems like a big step forward in understanding the real dynamics between AI and human labor. I found it especially interesting that most workers aren’t against automation itself, but want it to enhance their roles rather than replace them. It’s a clear call for more human-centered AI design — and for organizations to start investing more seriously in soft skills and collaborative capabilities.
